Jaime Lannister stars in beautifully disturbing Elf on the Shelf parody

He sees you when you’re sleeping. He knows when you’re awake. And if you don’t start behaving, like, right now, he’s going to tell you a long and detailed story about a particularly unpleasant red wedding.

In the Jimmy Kimmel Live clip above, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau stars as a “Lannister on the Bannister” — a gloriously bloodthirsty parody of Elf on the Shelf. His specialties include scaring children into shape and seducing mothers who remind him of his sister.

‘Game of Thrones’ star reveals the moment that broke Jaime and Cersei forever

“I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time,” Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau says, when asked how it felt portray Jaime Lannister finally abandoning his sister (and lover) in the Season 7 finale.

“I think that he’s seen her do crazy things before, but this is lying to everyone, and lying to him. You’ve got to go, ‘How much can this guy take before it becomes too much?’ It was a great scene to shoot,” he reveals in a new interview with Making Game of Thrones, the show’s behind-the-scenes production blog.

Jaime had a rough season. He was belittled by Cersei, mocked by Euron, needled by Olenna and nearly roasted by Daenerys, but it wasn’t until he was faced with the very real threat of the White Walkers — and realized that his sister would rather sit on the sidelines and let her enemies kill each other than honor her word — that he finally came to his senses. The woman he loves might just be beyond saving.  Read more…

‘Game of Thrones’ star explains why Jaime Lannister is a good person despite all the murder

When we met Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones, he was hardly the show’s moral compass (that title was easily won by Ned Stark, R.I.P.).

He was charming, powerful, condescending – he was a dick, really, and his character arc throughout the series has been one of the most compelling. As Game of Thrones chipped away at Jaime’s familial responsibilities and relationship with Cersei, a real human being emerged — and he even made an actual friend through his road trip with Brienne of Tarth.

“I think that my character on Game of Thrones has strong morals,” actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau told Mashable while promoting his latest feature film, Small Crimes. “It’s all about other people’s needs, about his sister’s needs. And I think that in Small Crimes, Joe is all about himself.” Read more…

Jaime Lannister on his family: ‘If they lose the crown…they’re probably going to lose their heads’

Six seasons into Game of Thrones, you have to wonder: How many of these characters even care about the Iron Throne anymore? Aren’t they busy enough just trying to stay alive?

Yes and no, according to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister. The actor, who appears in Netflix’s Small Crimes (now streaming), told Mashable that his character is only invested in the crown because it keeps him alive.

“I think he cares about it not being someone that the Lannisters can’t control,” he said of the fate of the Iron Throne. “I think [Jaime] understands there’s no question that if they lose the crown, obviously they’re probably going to lose their heads.” Read more…
